Project610

I write things. Music, websites, software, blog entries. They're all pretty sub-par, but if I keep writing bad things, eventually a good thing will come out by accident!

Best apocalypse ever

Here I am, farting around instead of sleeping, and still getting used to just how overwhelmingly convenient I've made my life. Sure, things like moving out will be slightly less pleasant, but since I currently spend easily 90% of my waking hours sitting at my computer, why not amp up the convenience a little?

I haven't quite decided on what to do with all this extra workspace, but I think that I'm on the right track.

Naturally, this calls for a picture, but of course, it's been so long since I've taken a photo of something that my camera's battery is dead.

Being greedy

So I decided I do what I don't like doing, and put a single ad on P610. Sits right there at the top, and tells everybody who looks at my site "I am trying to turn you into money".

Boop boop beep beep beep beep boop boop

After organizing everything in one convenient spot, I noticed the list of abandoned projects was quite extensive, and gave a few of the items in said list an extra listen or two. It motived my to try to unbandon them. Results below!

Music

As per popular request (Not so much a lot of people requesting, but getting the same request multiple times from one person) I will cram all of my music into one section and plop a link on the menu.

Two finished songs! (Actually three!)

So I didn't get around to posting an update earlier because my website died for over a day (Thanks HostMDS) when I was in the mood to write, and fell out of the mood for a while. During that time, I finished Song10 and started/finished Song16! Though I think I might make some changes to 16 depending on feedback. Listen to 'em after the jump!

Vacation

So for about 2 weeks now, I've been in Barbados. Got some sun, a minor burn, swam a bit. Mostly I stayed inside and played Minecraft. (This isn't a bad thing. A vacation's about enjoying yourself, right? I certainly spent time doing things I enjoyed, so I'd say mission accomplished.)

Fine! But I need a hat. I won't be a pirate without a hat. Oh, hats are $30, and yet this second hand leather jacket is only $15. Obvious solution: Make a hat, and the rest of my costume if need be.

Regarding being pulled over on my bike

I don't think I actually blogged about this one - which is odd because it would've made great blog fodder (That is... A topic I throw my blog at and see what sticks.) - but essentially, the day I bought a secondhand bike, I got pulled over. Details below, as well as new thoughts about it.

Positive Reinforcement

One of those popular child-raising theories. Pretty simple: "Reward someone for doing something good. Not necessarily every time, just enough to get them to hope they'll get something out of behaving." Combine that with a very optimistic child (Eg: Myself) and you get a very well behaved person who is very hard to surprise with a gift.

Fitocracy

Notice how I just stopped jogging out of the blue? Yeah, I cannot motivate myself. I always quit something after a while just because I run out of interest. Fitocracy makes a game out of it, which is entirely based on the players being honourable and accurate. Still, it's already got me feeling competitive.

Alcohol

My sister had a barbeque recently, and asked me to drink when I went. As she doesn't ask much of me, I figured I'd oblige. What followed was straight vodka and whiskey, no surprise that I didn't enjoy it at all.

Jogging? What? I don't know...

Lost interest. Maybe I'll continue, maybe I won't. Anyway, I'm laying in bed, typing away on my phone. Haven't cut my nails in a while, so typing is kind of a pain. As such, I'll keep it short.

As if this wasn't already the worst thing I've had to endure yet...

I remember seeing an inconsistency with the 3rd day of 2 weeks where the picture didn't match the total time. I mistakenly thought that was this week, and jogged for a painful additional 2 minutes. Read on if that matters to you!

A discouraging end to my third week.

No jog!

So I'm sitting here, being all tired, looking outside and noticing that it seems to be raining or something. I suddenly think about how I am supposed to jog today, and how I blogged about something recently that ended with "I will rant about a jog later today". I find myself in a panic because I'm like "OH MAN HOW LONG AGO WAS THAT DID I JUST FORGET TO JOG OR SOMETHING?"

It was 14 hours ago, as of the time that I am writing this. (20:18) I will probably nap and then jog, but I'm writing here now because I might forget to if I don't!

Too much of a good thing.

Project610's had an upload option for years. It's been pretty much the only consistent thing (Aside from its layout) about the website for whatever length of time that it's been around. It's always been free to use, had minimal security, and aside from an arbitrary size restriction in the early days, had next to no qualms with whatever it is you had to upload.

Well, things have to change when someone takes advantage of that.

Week 3

A few hours ago, I jogged! I didn't blog about it because it was chilly out and my hands and arms had gone mostly numb. Soooo I played some Minecraft until they thawed out. Thing is, it's kind of cold in here, so they never really fully did that.

Beginning of the end!

I missed a day! After the conference, my ankles were killing me and it was a day of joggingness. I am very disappointed in myself, and not yet in the mood to jog, but I know I have to. Blaaaaah!

Xpresslost

Allow me to direct your attention to the paragraph below this one. I keep my descriptions free of formatting and images and the like, so while I could've introduced this entry with a picture, and I kind of would've liked doing that, I have prohibited myself from doing it in an effort to make these synopses.

Day 3, I want to throw up

I only took a 1-day break this time. I also had a hamburger and 5 glasses of Coke, and a large deal of frustration with work immediately before my jog today. I also also decided to sprint because a really fast song came on while I was jogging. The result: Nearly throwing up the entire time!

The spammers are back!

I will write

... At least.
